PCR Room Cleaning Duties

When wiping down the surfaces in the PCR Room, use a paper towel saturated with Wescodyne. Try to wipe down all of the surfaces that folks touch often.

 

PCR Set-Up Room:

  1. Put away floating objects (tip boxes, glove boxes, etc.) on the shelves.

  2. Restock tubes, tips, etc. from the anteroom.

  3. Remove recycling - cardboard to the hallway and empty tip boxes to the main lab bins.

  4. Remove biohazard waste - tips need to be double-bagged and large biohazard bags need to taken out when they are 2/3 full.

  5. Wipe down the countertops and desktop centrifuges.

  6. Wipe down the drawer handles.

  7. Clean inside and around the sink.

  8. Dry mop the floor with the dust mop.

  9. Wet mop the floor with 10% bleach.

PCR Anteroom:

  1. Wipe down the handles of both doors.

  2. Wipe down oft used surfaces - freezer and refrigerator door handles, the top and door of the ice machine, etc.

  3. Wipe down the thermocycling machine (including the block!).

  4. Label the biohazard bags 'Mullins' and remove them to the 2nd floor autoclave room.

  5. Dry mop the floor with the dust mop.

  6. Wet mop the floor with 10% bleach.

  7. Pull up the sticky mat.

Whew! You're done!
